Ryan Weathers and Will Warren both have had impressive starts to this season. Both have ERAs in the 3s, and have helped the Yankees withstand injuries to Carlos Rodón and Gerrit Cole.

And one of them will be out of the rotation soon.

That is the harsh reality facing the Yankees’ back-end starters with Rodón back and Cole nearing a return from the Tommy John surgery that cost him all of last season.

Cole, who may only need one or two more rehab starts before returning, impressed at Double-A Somerset on Sunday, striking out eight and throwing a fastball that got up to 99 mph.
