Three people were stabbed by a knifeman who shouted “Allahu Akbar” multiple times as he launched an attack in front of a group of school children at a Swiss train station on Thursday morning.
The armed attacker, described as a 31-year-old Swiss man, stabbed three men at different locations at the Winterthur train station outside of Zurich, according to the Swiss newspaper Tages-Anzeiger.
Eyewitnesses said a group of school children had passed the knife-wielding man, as the teacher stepped in to protect the defenseless minors.

“He had a knife in his hand,” a witness told Blick. “Everyone was screaming and running away.”
Video shared online by Swiss politician Nils Fiechter captured the ragged-looking man racing down the street with a hand in the air screaming “Allahu Akbar” as the frightened children were ushered to safety.
The suspected attacker was arrested by officers at the train station and hauled off to a police station across the street, the outlet reported.
Another witness, a student traveling through the station, reported seeing the attack less than 100 feet away from where they were standing.
“I heard a man behind me shout ‘Allahu Akbar’ five or six times in a very emotional and agitated manner,” the witness told Blick.

One of the victims was seriously injured while the other two suffered moderate wounds. All three were transported to local hospitals, the outlet reported.
Police arrested the suspect at the station.
Police have blocked off an area of 300 feet as they investigate the daylight attack.
