Doug Ellin, creator of the hit show “Entourage,” delivered a fiery rant about the “collapse” of Los Angeles, claiming he no longer feels safe while publicly voicing his support for Spencer Pratt’s campaign for mayor.
“This city has collapsed in the last five years. There is no f–king denying it unless you have an agenda, and I don’t know what that is,” Ellin said in a video posted to Instagram last week. “But, you say, ‘Oh, Spencer Pratt has no experience!’ What experience did Karen Bass have?”
In the video posted to Instagram, Ellin said he used to leave his doors unlocked but since his Beverly Hills home was burglarized in 2023 by two people wearing ski masks, he now has 15 cameras, two German shepherds and three legal guns.
“I don’t believe your bulls–t about your stats and the crime because everyone in my neighborhood has got the same problem — they’re all putting cameras and hiring security guards cause we’re all getting broken into,” Ellin said.
The TV producer appeared to be criticizing a recent article from the Los Angeles Times that highlighted homicides and violent crimes being near-historic lows, calling the paper out by name.
Ellin acknowledged he “glorified” the city, but now it’s time “to fix this place.”

“We don’t want to be forced out. I’m one of the people who made this city look great! I did it for years. I glorified it. I meet people all the time that moved here because of the show that I f–king created — and they hate it here now,” Ellin said.
Pratt has made crime and addressing the city’s homelessness problem a central part of his campaign, vowing to clean up the streets and end taxpayer-funded programs he believes have only made the problem worse.
The public plea from Ellin comes as Pratt is embroiled in a heated race between incumbent Mayor Karen Bass and Councilmember Nithya Raman, with voters heading to the ballot box on Tuesday in California’s primary.
The latest poll conducted by The California Post and McLaughlin & Associates shows the reality-TV-star-turned-mayoral candidate has surged to a statistical tie with the incumbent mayor.
Voters blame homelessness, affordability and the direction of Los Angeles as the reason for turning on Bass, according to the survey.
Pratt now leads the field with 30.1% support, compared with 29.5% for Bass, setting up a razor-thin race heading into tomorrow’s primary.
