Shedeur Sanders may have another pro football option, and it isn’t in the NFL.

The Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League added Sanders to their negotiation list, TSN’s Dave Naylor reported on Monday night.

Putting the former Colorado Buffaloes quarterback on their negotiation list means that should Sanders decide to play in the CFL, then the Argonauts would have the first chance to sign Sanders.

Sanders had been taken by the Browns with the No. 144 pick in the draft that took place this past weekend after dramatically falling out of the first round and remaining on the draft board until the final day.

Sanders, the son of NFL legend Deion Sanders, who coached Shedeur throughout his college career, has not indicated that he has any interest in playing north of the border.

The QB prospect was the second that the Browns selected during the draft, having also picked rookie Dillon Gabriel in the third round.

With Sanders now in the mix, the Browns have four total quarterbacks in their room, which includes Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett, along with the two rookies and the injured Deshaun Watson.

Sanders’ fall from a potential top-five pick to a fifth-round selection has divided NFL fans and observers.

Perceived character concerns, along with Deion’s involvement with his son’s draft prep are believed to have factored into his drop.

“He’s highly accurate. Can play well from the pocket. Very productive college career,” Browns general manager Andrew Berry said on Saturday about Sanders. “It wasn’t necessarily the plan going into the weekend to draft two quarterbacks. We believe in best player available. We didn’t expect him to be available in the fifth.”

The Browns do have a history of former draft picks ending up in the CFL.

After taking Johnny Manziel in the first round in 2014, he eventually signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats after two years in the NFL.
