Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ rivalry with hip-hop legend Suge Knight detailed in Cassie Ventura testimony

Sean “Diddy” Combs ran out in the middle of a “freak-off” to go confront his rival Suge Knight, the disgraced music mogul’s ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura testified Tuesday at his bombshell sex-trafficking trial in Manhattan.

The R&B singer, real name Casandra Ventura, said she was taking part in one of the coerced sex marathons at a Los Angeles home owned by Combs — but on a break “chilling” — when Damion “D-Roc” Butler came in and said that Knight was at Mel’s Drive-in diner.

Combs “quickly packed up and drove down there,” Ventura recalled in Manhattan federal court.

“I was crying. I was screaming, ‘Please don’t do anything stupid,’” she said. “I was just really nervous for them, what it meant, what they were going to do.”

But her cries fell on deaf ears.

“It’s like I wasn’t even there,” Ventura said.

Combs later returned, but Ventura said he didn’t reveal to her what had happened — and it’s not clear if he and Knight, a manslaughter convict and former Death Row Records producer, ended up crossing paths at the diner.

Knight is serving a 28-year prison sentence for killing a man he ran over with his pickup truck in 2015.

He agreed to pay a $1.5 million settlement to the family of Terry Carter at a court hearing in Los Angeles last month.

Carter, a 55-year-old businessman, was fatally struck by Knight’s pickup truck in the parking lot of a Compton burger joint in January 2015.

It followed an altercation between Knight and a consultant on the N.W.A. biopic, “Straight Outta Compton.”

Knight and Combs’ rivalry started in the 1990s when Knight was a producer for major California rappers such as Tupac Shakur, while Combs was working with Brooklyn-born artist The Notorious B.I.G., real name Christopher Wallace.

Knight’s Death Row Records and Combs’s Bad Boy Records label were at the center of the East-West Coast rap feud, which culminated in the violent deaths of Shakur and Wallace within a matter of months of each other in 1996 and 1997.

Ventura’s testimony came on day two of Combs’s bombshell sex-trafficking trial.

Combs, 55, faces life in prison if found guilty of one count of racketeering conspiracy, two counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.

He has pleaded not guilty to all of the charges.

Knight, 60, teased that he knows “secrets” about Combs’s past in a podcast episode last year.

“I’ll tell you what, Puffy, you life is in danger ’cause you know the secrets of who’s involved in that little secret room you guys are participating in,” Suge said on his “Collect Call with Suge Knight” podcast in September 2024.

“You know they gonna get you if they can… I turned myself in. Sometimes you gotta face the music. That’s most of the time,” he added.

“Puffy, I’m gonna give you some real advice. Two quick things. You gotta make a decision. When you go to prison, either you’re gonna be standing up p—ing or squatting, sitting down p—ing’. I advise you to try to take the first one ’cause if you squatting and p—ing you know what that means. Do not do your time going by Brother Love. Brother Love is not a good code name,” he said, mocking Combs.
