After a month and a half of watching the Yankees struggle badly (and hit only sporadically) without their best player, we still don’t really know anything concrete about Aaron Judge’s timetable. 

One thing is becoming clear, however: The Yankees need offensive help. (But before we get to our hitting suggestions for the deadline, here’s what we’re surmising about this unhappy situation.) 

1. It isn’t a good sign Judge still isn’t ready for baseball activity after they reimaged the affected rib area following six-plus weeks on the shelf; 

2. The Yankees seem hapless bordering on hopeless without him.
