A blue-chip Mets quick fix unlikely to materialize at trade deadline

The outside expectations for the Mets this trading season range from unrealistic to crazy unrealistic.

Sure, the Mets have quantity to offer, but it’s not the kind of quality that brings back blue-chip prospects.

Put another way, they don’t exactly have Tarik Skubal or Mason Miller to dangle.

Sure, Bo Bichette and Francisco Lindor are big names. But neither one has come close this year to performing up to their big contracts, which pay them $42M and $32M a year, respectively. And neither is likely to go in a trade, anyway.
