A rotting 58-year-old man’s body was found with a knife sticking out of his neck inside a Brooklyn home Sunday afternoon, according to cops and sources.
Police were summoned to the home for a wellness check when they made the gruesome discovery around 12:41 p.m. inside a brownstone at 716 Madison St. in Bed-Stuy, police said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
It’s unclear how long he was there, but sources said his body was “highly decomposed” with a knife protruding from his neck.
The man’s cause of death will be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, police said.
His identity has yet to be released pending family notification.
Neighbors of the victim walked somberly around the hallways of the brownstone, covering their faces with their hands to avoid the lingering stench.
Residents also stood outside the tree-lined block of the revitalized nabe to offer condolences to one another.
“That’s crazy, I just see him, Friday night. He was out here on the steps,” one neighbor told The Post.
“He let everybody in that crib. I see him every day when I walk my dog.”
The grisly find comes weeks after a putrid odor led cops to discover a man’s decaying corpse in a Staten Island home.
