The NFL is back on “Thursday Night Football.”
It’s Cardinals-Panthers in the first NFL preseason game of the year in the annual “Hall of Fame Game” in Canton, Ohio.
Most oddsmakers have the Panthers as slight favorites, coming in at -120 on Fanatics Sportsbook and giving 1.5-points against the spread.
Stud rookie running back Jeremiyah Love will not be featured in this game as he is expected to be inactive on Thursday night.
Arizona will have former Georgia and Miami quarterback Carson Beck as its starter on Thursday against five-year veteran signal-caller Kenny Pickett before the two make way for some other roster hopefuls.
After Pickett, Haynes King, an undrafted free agent out of Georgia Tech and Texas A&M, is expected to get the remainder of the work.
Kedon Slovis is the backup for Beck in Arizona on Thursday night.
Typically, underdogs have had strong performances in the Hall of Fame Game of late, going 7-4 straight up and 8-2-1 against the spread in that time.
This will be Mike LaFleur’s head coaching debut, and he will send a rookie quarterback to execute his game plan.
I actually think there will be a bit of scoring in this game, despite the low total of 34.5. The Over has performed pretty well in this spot, going 4-0 in the last four seasons.

It’s definitely an over spot considering the first two quarterbacks that will play tonight are expected to be plenty competent.
