Carson Benge went all out to make a terrific catch on Friday night.
But the Mets’ rookie outfielder paid a bit of a price.
Benge was removed in the bottom of the fourth inning of a 6-4 Mets win with what the team called left wrist soreness. X-rays came back negative, but Benge is set to undergo further testing Saturday.
Starting in left field, Benge tracked down a long fly ball during the bottom of the third, making a diving grab on the backhand before crashing into the wall in the corner.
Benge immediately grimaced and removed the glove from his left hand before getting back to his feet.
Cristian Pache, recently summoned from Triple-A Syracuse, came into the game in the bottom of the fourth as a defensive replacement.

Benge, with two homers and a triple during a red-hot series at the plate in Cleveland, was 2-for-2 — upping his average to .270 — with a run scored before exiting Friday.
