Inside Roger Federer’s wealth as tennis legend takes massive financial hit

Roger Federer’s wallet is the new hot topic.

As the tennis legend dipped out of billionaire status Tuesday after sneaker brand On suffered a share price collapse due to softer sales numbers than expected, questions arose about Federer’s finances.

According to Forbes, there is no big reason for the Swiss great to fret as Federer still remains close to billionaire level.

The 20-time grand slam winner, who has a case in the “GOAT” argument of tennis, accumulated the majority of his wealth from his 24-year career.

He left the game behind in 2022 with around $131 million in prize money.

Yet, his sponsorship deals elevated his wealth even more.

Federer, 45, still has an ongoing endorsement deal with Uniqlo; he agreed to a 10-year, $300 million apparel deal in 2018.

The move ended his 24-year partnership with Nike. Other partnerships over the years have included Rolex, Mercedes-Benz, Gillette, Lindt chocolate and NetJets.

Those deals, paired with his minority stake in On Holding — owning around a 2.5% stake in the Swiss athletic shoe company — pushed him into billionaire status in 2025.

He had roughly 296 million class A shares and 341 million class B shares that sparked that boost.

On Tuesday, however, his net worth fell to $952.4 million, according to Forbes, and he lost at least $52 million as On’s share price fell about 19 percent around the same time.

Last year, his net worth was estimated to be up to $1.1 billion.

Federer became a co-owner of the company in 2019 and he serves as a casual fashion consultant.

Part of the company’s 2025 surge can be credited to “The Roger” shoe.

On described Roger as a “close partner to our founders.”
