Three buses crashed at the New York Port Authority Bus Terminal on Wednesday morning, leaving at least a dozen people injured and forcing the terminal to shut down during rush hour, according to authorities and sources.
The NJ Transit buses crashed just after 6:15 a.m. at the terminal in Midtown Manhattan, according to authorities.
Twelve people were treated for minor injuries, while one person was taken to a hospital for further evaluation.
“New York Port Authority Bus Terminal is closed due to a multi-bus accident,” NJ Transit said in a post on X.
“NJ TRANSIT bus service traveling to and from the New York Port Authority Bus Terminal is being diverted to Secaucus Junction, Newark Penn Station, and Hoboken Terminal. All trains will stop at Secaucus.”
It wasn’t immediately clear what caused the crash. Authorities are investigating.
