In the latest manifestation of Woke Inc Campus Reform is reporting “The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor will begin covering first-semester letter grades for first-year students in its College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA) in fall 2027, while the college continues to offer 15-credit undergraduate and graduate credentials in LGBTQ studies.”
This is both unfair to other students academically, as well as unfairly and immorally promoting “alternative lifestyles”.
LGBT students should not be given an advantage in academia.
The emphasis in school should be on reading, math, and history, not on left-wing agendas.
“Under the university’s First-Semester Grade Covering Pilot Program, all first-year LSA students will have their first-semester grades displayed on transcripts as pass (P) or no credit (NC). The pilot does not apply to first-year students enrolled in the university’s other colleges.”
This is outrageous and is unfair to students who earn higher scores.
“Dean Rosario Ceballo, who proposed grade covering during her 2025 State of the College address, said the change would encourage students “to try a course in a field they know nothing about” and “to embrace the joy of learning.”
“All first-year LSA students will participate automatically. The university says allowing students to opt in could undermine the program because choosing grade covering could be interpreted as an indication that a student was performing poorly.”
This policy is worse than participation trophies and, in principle, socialist.
“LSA also offers undergraduate and graduate credentials devoted to LGBTQ and sexuality studies through its Department of Women’s and Gender Studies.”
These courses are Woke on steroids DEI and Woke are un-American and unpopular, yet schools like this continue to drive this agenda through.
“The university’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Sexuality Studies minor requires students to complete five courses totaling at least 15 credits. The university describes the minor as an interdisciplinary examination of sexuality encompassing religious beliefs, legal codes, medical constructions, and social movements.”
This is Woke on steroids and clearly promoting lifestyles at odds with the values of the majority of America.
“The Department of Women’s and Gender Studies also administers a 15-credit graduate certificate in LGBTQ Studies. The program is available to students already enrolled in terminal degree programs and can accompany either a master’s or doctoral degree.”
The whole concept of Gender studies is a joke and a waste of time for students who wish to acquire important knowledge and advance their careers.
Both the coddling through no grades at this school and, worse, the promoting of ideologies at odds with the majority of Americans are an affront to the students and their families.
