A bougie restaurant atop a California Eataly was forced to shut its doors after a live cockroach was spotted crawling on a kitchen wall, according to a stomach-churning health inspection report.

Terra Restaurant and Bar — located on the third floor of Eataly Silicon Valley in San Jose — had its health permit suspended on Friday due to vermin contamination.

An inspector with the County of Santa Clara Department of Environmental Health found a live cockroach crawling on the wall above the hand-washing sink in the kitchen, as well as dead cockroaches in the food preparation area, per the report.

Terra was ordered to clean the facility thoroughly — including clearing encrusted food from preparation tables, beneath equipment, and from floors and walls.

The inspection came after the county received a public complaint and examined the entire Eataly facility, KRON4 reported.

The wider investigation found no evidence of rodents but did uncover evidence of vermin on the third floor.

Restaurant management told inspectors it had completed pest control services and was cleaning and sanitizing the restaurant while discarding potentially contaminated food.
