A terrified woman’s screams for helped kicked off a frantic search for a missing jet skier in Long Beach.

The woman was discovered clinging to rocks offshore after she and her riding companion, a 54-year-old male, somehow got knocked off the jet ski they were riding.

The duo had entered the water as part of a group of jet skiers earlier that evening, according to investigators.

The search for 54-year old missing man continues in the water near the 200 block of Marina Drive. KNN News

The US Coast Guard and the Long Beach Fire Department received 911 calls of two missing riders near Alamitos Bay Landing around 10:00 p.m.

Fishermen in the area heard a woman yelling for help and quickly notified the LBFD around 10:30 p.m.

Long Beach Fire Department Captain Jack Crabtree told news outlet that the woman, who is in her 40s, was rescued after she managed to swim to the breakwater rocks between Queen’s Gate and the LA Light.

She was transported to a local hospital in a stable condition. Authorities have not released any information identifying the rescued woman or the missing man.

Authorities located and recovered both jet skis outside the breakwater early Monday morning — one at 1:15 a.m. and the second at 1:45 a.m.

The US Coast Guard and Long Beach Fire Department continue to search for the man, who remained missing as of Monday morning.
