Video footage captured the Northern California casino employee accused of stabbing five of his co-workers being taken into custody while wearing a kitchen apron shortly after the alleged slashing spree.
Joseph Naugle, 22, who faces two attempted murder charges for the alleged Wednesday night rampage, worked at the Dos Coyote Border Cafe at the Thunder Valley Casino Resort in Lincoln.
After the alleged attack, which left bloodied victims sprawled among the slot machines as paramedics tended to their injuries, Naugle was seen handcuffed and being escorted by a police officer outside the casino.
One victim was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while the four others were treated at the scene, authorities said.
“At this point in the investigation, it appears the suspect knew all five victims,” the Placer County Sheriff’s Office said in an update. “No additional suspects are outstanding. And there is no outstanding threat to the public.”
Naugle’s disturbing mug shot was released following the arrest. The Roseville resident is being held without bail on two felony counts of attempted murder, according to jail records.
His arraignment is set for Friday at 1 p.m.
A day after the stabbing, the casino made a dubious post about patrons’ “non-stop” partying at a Bruno Mars tribute concert.
“We were partying non-stop tonight at The Venue with 24K Magic – Tribute to Bruno Mars!” the Thursday post on X said.
