A cargo plane landing at Los Angeles International Airport made a fiery entry Wednesday.
The intense incident captured on video shows bright bursts of fire erupting from a DHL cargo aircraft’s landing gear and engulfing its belly in flames as the plane skidded down the runway. The plane was traveling from Phoenix to LAX.
Loud popping sounds echoed across the tarmac before the plane’s undercarriage flared up–– severely damaging its four rear tires shortly after touching down at LAX around 11 p.m. Wednesday.
The Los Angeles Fire Department was quick to greet the plane, and put out the fire before further damage.

“Our anti-skid was off there,” the pilot reported to air traffic control immediately after stopping. “I don’t know if we blew a tire, but it feels like the brakes locked up.”
No injuries were reported, and the exact cause of the brake failure remains under investigation.
Earlier this month, an American Airlines plane was forced to make an emergency landing in South Carolina after flames were seen shooting from the engine when the aircraft reportedly struck a bird.
Dramatic video, filmed by passenger Patrick Gotwalt, showed flames streaming from beneath the left wing moments after the Boeing 737 took off from Myrtle Beach on Monday and flew over the water.
“Mayday, mayday, mayday. We’ve got an engine problem here,” the pilot said shortly after takeoff, according to a recording taken from LiveATC.
