Frances Tiafoe rallied from two sets down to cut off unseeded American Alex Michelsen’s upset bid at the U.S. Open on Tuesday.
The No. 11 seed was pushed close to the brink of elimination at times before winning, 5-7, 3-6, 7-5, 6-3, 7-6 (10) at Arthur Ashe Stadium.
Tiafoe advances to the semifinals to face the Carlos Alcaraz-Ben Shelton winner.
