President Trump on Wednesday slammed an ABC reporter while departing Washington for the RNC Midterm Convention in Dallas, Texas, when asked about the Republican candidates who will not be in attendance.
The New York Times (of course) reports that “deciding whether to appear with President Trump can be tricky” for Republican candidates.
Of the nine most competitive races, according to the Times, the candidates skipping the convention include:
- Susan Collins, the RINO from Maine
- John E. Sununu of New Hampshire, a RINO who Trump endorsed… for some reason
- Senator Dan Sullivan (R-AK)
- Rep. Ashley Hinson (R-IA)
Trump shrugged off ABC’s Mary Bruce, who asked about the candidates’ decision to skip the convention, saying, “Everybody wants to come.”
He then blasted her, calling the network “the worst of all.”

Trump: Everybody is coming to the convention. Everybody wants to come, but we only want— and the people that are coming, by the way, we’re going to be sold out tonight, just so you understand, who are you with?
Bruce: ABC News.
Trump: ABC Fake News. One of the worst. You are the worst of all, in my opinion. The reason that some people are not coming is because we don’t have room for 500 politicians.
We have room for the ones that have a close race, if they’re slightly behind or slightly ahead, or tied. But we don’t have room for people that are 35 points up and don’t need to be there. We said stay back and campaign. Every politician that we’ve wanted to be there is there.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, Trump will headline the convention on opening night tonight and give a closing speech on Thursday.
