A group of community activists have launched a “DSA: Tell the Truth” campaign calling out the lefty group’s hypocrisy after co-chair Gustavo Gordillo’s working-class persona was exposed as a facade by The Post.
Big Apple public housing tenants and clergy members rallied in Bedford-Stuyvesant Monday denouncing the Democratic Socialists of America as “double standards of America” and renewing calls for the resignation of Gordillo, a nepo baby who peddled himself as the product of a working class immigrant family.
The 38-year-old DSA leader is the son of a Miami millionaire who bought him a $1.5 million townhouse.
“This is the launch,” civil rights leader Rev. Kevin McCall said at Monday’s rally. “This is the launch of more to come. Gustavo is not off the hook. DSA is not off the hook. We’re going to be in front of your houses. We’re going to be in front of your meetings to tell them that Gustavo got to go.
“This is not about doxing anybody,” McCall said. “We don’t want liars.”
The DSA has come under greater scrutiny since Mayor Zohran Mamdani, a member of the lefty group, became the first socialist to move into Gracie Mansion.
Yale grad Gordillo was gifted a Brooklyn townhouse by his wealthy dad — who also allegedly paid for $1.4 million in renovations. Gustavo E. Gordillo is the founder and CEO of the $90 million telecommunications firm DraftPros, whose clients include AT&T and Verizon.
Yet the DSA co-chair, who is cosplaying as blue collar, pushed to secure a $95,000 party salary for him and co-chair Grace Mausser, claiming there’s too much socialist work to do.
Gordillo had crafted a phony working class image of himself, claiming he was raised by penniless Peruvian immigrants — with his mom cleaning houses and his dad flipping burgers at Wendy’s.
But the ruse backfired when his privileged background was exposed.
Organizers of “DSA: Tell the Truth” accused the socialist party of hypocrisy, and said the group can’t credibly claim to be champions of public housing tenants, working-class residents or people of color.
“We want to make sure that Gustavo will not put us in the back of the bus by excluding black and brown people from policymaking,” McCall said. “When you’re talking about NYCHA residents, there are over 500,000 residents who live in New York City Housing Authority that the DSA have no regard for.
“There are black people, Latino people, Hispanic people that the DSA don’t have regard for,” he said. “He must resign. He must resign. He must resign.”
Gordillo did not respond to a request for comment Tuesday.
