California tech exec says she’s found 5 ‘Mr. Rights’ after cringe dating demands — as her SF startup faces nasty allegation

A California tech exec who went viral for posting an exhaustive list of demands for her future husband says she’s already found at least five potential Mr. Rights — but her startup’s luck around town isn’t smelling quite as sweet.

Brooke LeBlanc, an executive at insurance tech startup Corgi, is celebrating the apparent success of her viral husband hunt just as the company’s splashy San Francisco cafés are being roasted by customers.

James Qin, who posted about one Corgi location on Google Maps, said he headed to the company’s Dogpatch outpost because its Financial District location was “smelly,” poorly maintained and had “overpriced coffee and bad smelling bathrooms,” according to the San Francisco Standard.

“Thought the new location might be better,” Qin wrote. “Now I don’t know if I’ll ever know.”

Other Google reviewers have also reportedly been less than impressed. One claimed “every door handle just fell off,” while another complained that the front door wouldn’t stay closed unless it was locked.

Fortunately for LeBlanc, her dating prospects appear to be getting better reviews.

“Who wants to cofound the rest of my life with me?” she wrote on X while launching her very Silicon Valley search for a soulmate, complete with an extensive list of romantic “non-negotiables.”

And apparently, applications came pouring in.

“If Mr. Right is one in 1 million Seems I’ve found at least 5 of him now!” LeBlanc posted Sunday, adding that the viral escapade also earned her a “five figure creator check.”

Love, or at least posting about it, apparently pays.

But hopeful bachelors shouldn’t start celebrating yet.

There’s another interviewer. “Foot note: You will now also have to get my mom’s approval as she’s reading replies and sending me ‘which ones are cute,’” LeBlanc wrote.

Her mother has already apparently started vetting the talent, texting her daughter about one contender she deemed “smart, funny and cute.”

However, getting that far requires clearing quite the checklist: LeBlanc is seeking a man between 35 and 42 who is “healthy masculine,” smart, funny and lighthearted, with a “provider/protector mentality.”

He should also be “post economic (still hardworking),” kind, generous and thoughtful. He can’t already have children but must “decidedly” want them and he should be “on the healing path,” with a commitment to self-improvement that could include therapy, books or retreats.

Her dream guy also needs to be fit and sober.

While candidates can technically come from anywhere, LeBlanc says she “will not date unless live in the same city.”

Never having been married or engaged is strongly preferred, as is working in tech and having a career that blends into his personal life.

Meanwhile, Corgi appears to have similarly lofty ambitions.

Founded in 2024, the startup sells insurance products to venture-backed AI companies and has raised nearly $400 million at a $2.6 billion valuation.

Sources told the Standard that Corgi has discussed opening more than 100 cafés around San Francisco, with the colorful, dog-themed locations serving largely as marketing for the company.

Corgi also recently bought a Dogpatch commercial property owned by an affiliate of Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry for $11 million. Curry’s company paid $8.5 million for the building in 2024, according to the outlet.

So while Corgi works on conquering San Francisco (and perhaps its aroma and door-handle issues), LeBlanc’s search for a cofounder of a more personal variety appears to be moving right along.

She may have found five Mr. Rights. Now they just have to pass due diligence and Mom.
