A mass shooting rocked a California suburb early Thursday as four people were rushed to the hospital, with at least three suffering gunshot wounds.
The Hawthorne Police Department responded to the area near Crenshaw Boulevard and Rosecrans Avenue just after 2 a.m. after a call reported shots fired and screaming. Witnesses at the scene said a group of people gathered in the area got into an argument before the violence started.

Screams and at least three bursts of gunfire can be heard in video footage posted on Citizen from the area. At least ten shots can be heard spread across about a minute of the footage.
Officers arrived and found three people injured, who have since been hospitalized. The victims were spread across separate parking lots and near a bus stop bench. A fourth victim was identified at a nearby hospital.
At least one victim at the scene appeared to be conscious as first responders loaded them onto a stretcher.
No police officer discharged their firearms, according to MyNewsLA.
Police from the Gardena and Hermosa Beach Police Departments were also at the scene, which appeared to be a small shopping plaza. First responders from the Los Angeles County Fire Department transported the three victims.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting are unclear.
The number of suspects in the shooting is unknown, and police have not released details about whoever perpetrated the shooting.
Hawthorne is located in Los Angeles County’s South Bay region.
