President Trump will deliver remarks at a campaign rally in Dayton, Ohio, tonight to campaign for GOP Senator Jon Husted and gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy.
The rally at Vandalia-Butler High School tonight marks his fourth campaign rally this month after trips to Texas, Oklahoma, and Alabama earlier in the week.
Trump is expected to hold five to seven rallies a week during an October blitz.
Before departing the White House this afternoon, Trump spoke to reporters briefly and previewed his speech.
“We’re going to be campaigning for a couple of very good people. Vivek [Ramaswamy], we know about,” he said.
“As you know, Senator Husted is running a race against Brown, who’s horrible. They threw him out of the Senate once before. He’s horrible, and they should have success,” Trump continued. “We have a tremendous crowd of people. I won Ohio three times. We got the highest vote in the history of the state, so I like it very much. I love the people of Ohio, and we’re going to spend a little time.”
Trump further responded to a reporter asking if he thinks the cost of living will be the “biggest liability” for Republicans this election. “I inherited high costs from the Democrats or the Dumocrats, as I call them, because their policy is so bad,” he responded.
“But we inherited a lot, and we’ve gotten the prices down. Oil is coming down. Oil is, right now, lower, and it’s been lower than it was under the Biden administration, and they did nothing about the fact that Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon,” Trump added. “By the way, Iran, as you know, is virtually giving up any plans of a nuclear weapon.”
Trump is scheduled to speak at 7 pm ET.
