President Trump reacted to the death of Chicago Bears legend Mike Ditka on Friday while speaking to reporters and in a statement on Saturday, writing that he “will be missed.”
Ditka passed away at 86 on Friday.
The legendary coach played 12 seasons with the Bears, Philadelphia Eagles, and the Dallas Cowboys before he was head coach of the Bears for ten seasons from 1982 to 1992.
Trump first reacted to the news on Friday while departing the White House en route to New York, telling reporters, “He was a great guy. He was with me all the way. He was tough.”
“That’s a sad one. You’re just telling me that now for the first time,” Trump added. “Wow, he was great. He was great. He was a big supporter of mine… he was a winner, he was a tough cookie, he was great.”

Mike Ditka was a great champion, both as a player and a Coach. He was MAGA all the way, and he will be missed. Rest in Peace, Mike! President DONALD J. TRUMP
The Gateway Pundit reported on Ditka’s passing and his legacy as one of the greats.
During the kneeling epidemic in the NFL, Ditka famously blasted the America-haters in the NFL.
“If you can’t respect this country, get the hell out of it,” he said of the political activists like Collin Kaepernick.

His reporting on election crimes in Maricopa County led to the resignation of one election official, and he was later banned from the Maricopa County press room for his courage in pursuit of the truth. TGP and Jordan finally gained access after suing Maricopa County, America’s fourth largest county, and winning at the Ninth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals. Conradson looks forward to bringing his aggressive style of journalism to the Swamp.
