A Spectrum service van was trapped and slowly swallowed by a sinkhole following a severe water main break in an affluent Los Angeles neighborhood Wednesday afternoon.
The break flooded the busy intersection of Franklin and Normandie avenues in Los Feliz, sending water rushing down Normandie.
The torrent tore through the asphalt and gushed from beneath the street.
Spectrum said that a technician was working in the area when the sinkhole opened up and swallowed the van. The network company said that the technician did not sustain any injuries.
“We’re working with local officials and first responders, and we’ll support them however we can as they assess the situation,” a Spectrum spokesperson told CBS LA.
