The wrecked McLaren involved in a fiery crash that killed its driver, James Wehr, and passenger Lexi Kramer mysteriously burst into flames again — more than a month later at a secured Southern California tow yard, authorities said.

The front end of the supercar spontaneously ignited late Wednesday night at a Costa Mesa facility contracted by the Irvine Police Department to store vehicles involved in collisions, police said Saturday.

Newly released surveillance footage shows sparks appearing on the wreckage before the fire grows, sending thick smoke through the storage garage until the camera is obscured.

No injuries were reported, Irvine police Public Information Officer Kyle Oldoerp said.

The bizarre blaze erupted weeks after Wehr and Kramer died in a devastating Sept. 13 crash at Deerfield and Culver in Irvine.

Wehr, who police said was driving, lost control of the McLaren and slammed into a tree, according to footage of the original crash.

The impact caused the vehicle to separate, leaving its electrical system extensively damaged.

Investigators believe that damage may have played a role in the vehicle suddenly catching fire while in storage.

Costa Mesa Fire and Rescue is investigating the blaze. Authorities have not established a definitive cause, but arson is not suspected, police said.

The fatal wreck and its aftermath have drawn attention to the relationship between Wehr and Kramer.

The pair were reportedly involved romantically, though Kramer’s family alleged Wehr misled her about the status of his marriage to his wife, Emma.

Wehr’s widow later retained an accident attorney following the deadly crash.

Both the original fatal collision and the subsequent fire remain under investigation.
