A husband and father of three children was reportedly shot dead in front of his wife on Sunday following a dispute at a softball game in Humble, Texas.
The incident occurred shortly before 9:30 p.m.
The New York Post noted that the cause of the dispute is unknown, but four people were shot as a result. Thirty-six-year-old husband and father, Jarmon Mattix, was among those shot, and he died in front of his wife and his sister.
KPRC reported that police arrived on scene after calls about a fight and gunfire. Upon arriving, they found Mattix in the parking lot, and he died at the scene.
Mattix’s sister said, “He shot my brother right in front of me and my mother.”
The other three shooting victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office pointed out that “Detectives have identified suspects involved in the shooting and are conducting follow-up interviews.” There is no word on the make or caliber of the firearms used.
