A controversial, anti-Israel ad backing Michigan Democratic Senate hopeful Abdul El-Sayed was rebranded and recycled from the failed and illegitimate presidential bid of “Young Turks” co-founder and Hasan Piker’s uncle, Cenk Uygur.
Uygur deployed the ad, which depicted a couple blaming high prices at the grocery store on US aid to Israel, to promote his 2024 campaign and calls for a cease-fire in Gaza.
The “Young Turks” host and uncle of the far-left Twitch streamer had his Rebellion PAC repurpose the ad to attack Republican Senate hopeful Mike Rogers and blame him for US support of the Jewish state.
Uygur ran a primary challenge against former President Joe Biden, despite being ineligible for the presidency as a naturalized citizen born in Turkey.
The Constitution stipulates that presidents have to be natural-born citizens.
The repurposed ad was rolled out last Friday, but went viral on Monday.
“Honey, you’re going to have to put those eggs back,” a woman in the ad says. “They like eggs, but we have to set that $7 aside for killing Palestinians.”
“Don’t we give Israel $4 billion a year anyway?” the man in the spot asks.
“Yeah, and now we’re giving them another $26 billion,” she explains. “It’s like $161 per person. Apparently it’s costing us a lot of money to drop bombs on Gaza.”
Notably, a dozen eggs costs about $2.27 on average, while bananas average $0.66 per gram, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics — that’s about 30 cents lower than in January, before the war in Iran began.
Meanwhile, gas prices are $4.27 per gallon on average nationally, according to the latest data from the American Automobile Association.
El-Sayed’s campaign spokesperson, Roxie Richner, told The Post Monday that the ad “is not affiliated in any way” with the Dem’s campaign.
“Abdul is focused on pushing back against Trump’s agenda that is raising prices for Michiganders,” she added. “No one speaks for Abdul but himself and his campaign.”
The ad swiftly spurred a wave of bipartisan backlash.
“If [Abdul El-Sayed] truly means what he says about treating the Jewish community as he would treat his own children, then he would immediately condemn this dangerous ad as outrageously antisemitic and demand that it be taken down,” outgoing Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) posted on X.
“If not, then he’s full of sh—.”

Uygur stood by the ad amid the blowback.
“If you think this ad is antisemitic, you’ve lost your mind, and you don’t know it,” he told The Post on Monday when asked about the controversy.
“It’s saying we’re giving too much money to a foreign nation — and they’re misusing it,” he raged.
“There’s nothing more normal than that. But when someone criticizes the government of Israel, and you hear ‘They hate all Jews,’ get clinical help.”
