One trial down, dozens to go.
Luxury-real-estate heirs-turned-convicted serial rapists Oren, Alon, and Tal Alexander will likely spend years more inside courtrooms as they enter the next stage of their bruising legal journey involving another criminal trial and dozens of civil lawsuits.
The brothers were convicted in March of what Manhattan federal prosecutors described as “sex crimes of extraordinary magnitude” — and then sentenced Tuesday to 30 years each behind bars.
But two of them still face a second criminal trial, and all three must contend with a litany of civil suits in multiple states that could take years to play out.
Here’s what’s next for the fallen privileged scions, the sons of Florida security and real-estate entrepreneurs:
Florida criminal trial
Two of the Alexander brothers face another criminal prosecution — this time in state court — in the Sunshine State.
While the three siblings’ New York federal case concerned sex-trafficking conspiracy, Florida prosecutors are aiming to convict 39-year-old twins Oren and Alon on sexual-assault and battery charges.
Their 2024 Florida arrests involve three assaults that occurred between 2016 and 2021.
In the 2016 incident, Alon and Oren sexually assaulted a New York woman in their Miami Beach condo, authorities said.
The other two assaults only involved Oren. In one, he allegedly sexually assaulted another woman in his Miami condo in 2017. A third woman also claimed Oren assaulted her in a beach house bedroom in 2021.
As the siblings’ federal case played out in Manhattan, Florida prosecutors and lawyers for the two brothers had been duking it out over pre-trial motions and discovery.
Now that the federal case has wrapped, Florida officials can demand the twins return to their home state to face the state case there.
Lawsuit hell
Once all of the brothers’ criminal proceedings are completed, the siblings will duke it out in civil court, where they face lawsuits from more than two dozen accusers ready to make claims on what remains of the rapists’ real-estate fortune.
The first related civil lawsuits were filed against the brothers in 2024 and accused Oren and Alon of taking turns raping two women: one in the men’s Hamptons castle and another at their Manhattan apartment.
In the latter incident, the lawsuit claims the then-18-year-old victim was drugged by the brothers at a Meatpacking District club in 2010 and then brutally gang-raped by the twins.
Nearly 30 more victims came forward with similar claims shortly after, with at least 25 lawsuits filed in New York state courts alone.
Tal, 40, and Oren are named in nearly 20 sexual-assault cases, Alon faces around 15.
The brothers’ Manhattan federal conviction means lawyers for the alleged victims will have an ace up their sleeve as they hunt for every bank account, trust and property belonging to the brothers in order to pay out potential massive damages.
