The Patriots have made defensive tackle Christian Barmore available for trade, per Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated.
Barmore has seen a reduced role through the first seven weeks of the season.
“I mean, I do everything my coaches tell me to do, so you got to talk to coaches about that,” Barmore said, per the Boston Herald’s Doug Kyed.

Barmore has played only 41.9% of the Patriot’s snaps on defense so far this season and is now third in the team’s rotation behind Milton Williams, who New England signed in free agency, and Cory Durden. Barmore has recorded six tackles, three sacks and a forced fumble in those limited snaps. He also has 12 combined quarterback pressures, coming in second of New England’s interior lineman behind Williams’s 14.
Barmore’s cap number is $17.1 million, and the Patriots rank towards the bottom in available cap space. The Patriots could save as much as $8 million this season should they trade Barmore, and up to $41 million over the next two seasons.

New England signed Barmore to a four-year, $84 million extension in April 2024 with a max of $92 million including incentives.
Immediately after inking his extension, however, Barmore was sidelined for much of the 2024 season with a blood clot issue, limiting him to just four games.
Barmore is the longest-tenured defensive player on New England’s roster. He was drafted by the Patriots out of Alabama in the second round in 2021, and is one of a few remaining players on their roster selected by Bill Belichick.
