Alex Rodriguez’s prominence after cheating past is telling sign of TV’s moral bankruptcy

Nothing demonstrates the moral bankruptcy of national TV than the repeated, two-network appearances of Alex Rodriguez.

Oh, there are challengers. NBC’s hiring of selectively ignorant, self-enriching race-arsonist Al Sharpton is close. So is the networks’ race to hire ready-or-not college coaches moments after they’ve been sacked for the kind of cheating that even head fundraisers posed as college presidents can no longer abide.

But Rodriguez, in addition to being an expensive illusory hire by Fox and for a stretch simultaneously by ESPN — few-to-none intentionally tune in to hear his obligatory pre- and postgame time-killers — is a different kind of stand-alone bad guy.

His impressive MLB batting achievements, generated by illegal drug use, repetitive lies to that fact and defamations of his dead-on accurate accusers, seem to be mere sidebars to the unconscionable creep he is.
