Democrats are preparing to seize the UFO disclosure issue from the Republicans and the Trump administration, accusing them of dragging their feet on promises of transparency, according to one House leader.

The Dems are gearing up to form their own UFO caucus and select committee to supplant the Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets led by Florida Republican Anna Paulina Luna — if they take control of the House after the midterms, insiders told The Post.

Rep. Andre Carson (D-Ind.), who chaired the first congressional hearing in 2022 on UFOs, has long pushed to bring the subject into the mainstream on Capitol Hill.

“Unfortunately, the current administration has not been fully transparent on UAP and has slow walked several of the statutory requirements Congress established for UAP disclosure,” Carson said in a statement to The Post.

“For example, the Department of Defense’s All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office was established to receive, analyze, and resolve UAP reporting — but it has delayed the release of a key historical UAP record report for almost two years.”

Carson said the report could shed light on decades of government investigations into UFO sightings — including whether classified programs were kept from Congress.

“I’m calling for the immediate release of this report, which is expected to provide additional findings of historical military and intelligence investigations of UAP, including how incidents were investigated, the role of classified programs, and whether relevant activities were appropriately disclosed to Congress,” the statement concluded.

Carson’s office did not clarify what specific file they were referring to, which statutory deadline had been missed or where it is being held.

Republican insiders are worried that the Democrats could eclipse what could be a defining achievement of the Trump administration by taking ownership of the disclosure issue.

UFO whistleblower David Grusch has warned that the Trump administration needs to act fast if it wants to secure complete disclosure.

“It has to happen before Trump leaves because I just don’t trust another president to follow through on the president’s directive,” Grusch told podcaster Joe Rogan in a Sept. 30 appearance.

Rep. Luna did not respond to a request for comment.
