If they can make it there…

The House of Representatives, Senate and White House could be controlled by New Yorkers at the same time in a historic first following the Tuesday midterms’ blue wave.

Democrats flipped both chambers of congress, putting Brooklynites Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer in line to lead the House and Senate, respectively.

Schumer must still be elected Senate majority leader by his Democratic colleagues, while Jeffries must win a vote of the full House to become speaker.

If they are, it would be the first time New Yorkers simultaneously held the presidency, House speakership and Senate majority leadership.

But even shared hometown roots might not be enough for the city slickers to bridge deep partisan divides with fellow New Yorker President Trump, a Queens native and the nation’s top Republican.

Trump has famously sparred with Jeffries and Schumer over everything from government shutdowns to a gas station doughnut photo op.

Still, Mayor Zohran Mamdani said an Empire State takeover of Washington could be “of incredible importance,” when he was asked Wednesday whether the trio’s New York ties could help with his far-left political agenda.

“I think that having leaders in Washington be from our city and of our city is of incredible importance to our city,” he told reporters Wednesday. “

“Our vision is one that requires partnership at the city level, state level and the federal level.”

Being Big Apple born-and-bred doesn’t mean the three politicians will see eye-to-eye — especially with decades of bad blood between them.

Just last year, Trump called Jeffries a “low IQ individual” during the government shutdown and also posted an AI-generated video showing the House minority leader wearing a sombrero with an exaggerated mustache, accompanied by mariachi music.

Jeffries called the video racist and accused Trump of having “Jeffries Derangement Syndrome” — a twist on the “Trump Derangement Syndrome” insult the president and his supporters use against his own critics.

“You can only throw tantrums,” Schumer chimed in, coming to Jeffries’ defense over the sombrero video.

Trump and Schumer also argued in 2017 over a 2003 photo the president circulated of the five-term New York senator sharing coffee and doughnuts with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin as he demanded an investigation into his Moscow ties.

Schumer said the encounter took place at a Lukoil gas station opening in Manhattan, adding, “And for the record, they were Krispy Kreme donuts.”

The longtime Democrat has even taken aim at Trump’s golf game.

When the Manhattan real estate mogul tied at his own club’s championship match in 2025, Schumer implied he had cheated, snarking, “though I’m sure his caddie would be reluctant to testify under oath.”

But despite formally defecting from New York to Florida in 2019, he has promised to continue looking out for his hometown.

“I will always be there to help New York and the great people of New York. It will always have a special place in my heart!” he said.
