Iranian officials mocked President Trump over Republicans’ midterm losses and warned that the regime would deploy “new weapons” if he chooses to restart the war.
“Conscience or the cost of living, Americans said NO TO WAR, and we endorse this message,” Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf gloated on X, warning Trump against resuming the conflict.
“If the US govt betrays their public will to serve international paymasters and blackmailers, it will learn our NO comes with a Nightmare,” the chief Iranian negotiator added.
Hamidreza Moghadamfar, an adviser to the Commander-in-Chief of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), also warned that Tehran was ready to respond if Trump makes good on his promise to renew airstrikes after the midterms.
“If the United States or the Zionists take action, Iran will respond with a new doctrine and new weapons, delivering responses that differ from those of the past,” he said.
Iran’s still-missing Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei delivered his latest written statement following the midterms, warning that America’s days are numbered.
“The process of the US’s collapse has accelerated,” he said.
He then referred to the US as the “Great Satan” and vowed the Iran will never surrender.
The officials’ warnings were echoed around by Iranian broadcasters who mocked the president over the stunning losses across the nation while failing to secure a clear win in the war.
“Trump failed at regime change in Iran but he succeeded in Texas,” one of the state-run news outlets joked — parroting a post that went viral on X Tuesday night.
Iran does not have free and fair elections — all candidates must be approved by the Supreme Leader for religious purity.
Freedom House ranks Iran as one of the least free nations in the world — behind even Russia.

Prior to the US elections, Iranian officials published an open letter to American voters urging them to rebuke Trump and the war, with reports emerging that Tehran was also trying to use the war and high gas prices to hurt Republican’s chances.
Senior Iranian officials also confirmed that Tehran was deliberately prolonging talks to weaken Trump’s position in the peace discussion, Reuters reported.
Despite the celebrations in Iran, officials are also wary that Trump could lash out over the midterms by accelerating plans to strike the country.
Trump has maintained that he would allow diplomacy to run its course and only attack if he feels Iran is not serious about the peace negotiations.
