Multiple people were injured in a shooting at a post office in Iowa Thursday morning, with police putting a nearby hospital on lockdown.
At least three people were wounded in the shooting at the main United States Postal Service Building in Des Moines, police said at the scene.
Video shared on social media shows a major law enforcement presence outside the post office in downtown Des Moines, after reports of a shooting shortly after 9 a.m. local time.

A suspect has been detained, and all the injuries appear to be non-life-threatening, Sergeant Paul Parizek of the Des Moines Police Department told WHO13.
“We’re secure right now,” Parizek told the Des Moines Register, while also stressing of the wounded: “I didn’t see anything that indicated anyone had any life-threatening injuries.”
