Finding a pink ticket in your window after parking downtown: a bad surprise. Finding out the 49ers are wrecked by injury, but Christian McCaffrey is still healthy: a “Wait, what?” surprise. Because that never happens.
Only it has. George Kittle has been lost for at least four weeks after landing on IR with a hamstring injury. QB Brock Purdy could miss multiple games with a toe problem. Jauan Jennings is questionable heading into the weekend with a shoulder issue. And Brandon Aiyuk is on the PUP list and isn’t expected to return until at least Week 6.
The oft-injured CMC? Good to go, though he did have a calf scare last week.
