With the tragic death of wrestling legend Hulk Hogan on Thursday, we should never forget that aside from his career as an entertainer, he was a man of faith who accepted Christ.

In April 2023, Hogan made a post on social media platform X, avowing his faith.

“I accepted Christ as my savior at 14yrs old, and the training, prayers and vitamins kept me in the game but now that I am one with God, the main event theme of surrender, service and love makes me the Real Main Event that can slam any giant of any size through the power of my Lord and Savior and so it is, even now brother, AMEN!” he wrote.

Hogan was later baptized in December 2023.

But his faith was not something he kept private up to that point, as he had made it a part of his in-ring persona. Hogan was known for telling kids to “train, say your prayers, eat your vitamins, and believe in yourself.”

Additionally, he was known for his a ceaseless patriotism, which was displayed out in the ring and in real life.

With Thursday’s news, many were reminded of his Republican National Convention speech from July 2024.

President Donald Trump, who Hogan gave that speech in support of, posted to Truth Social on Thursday, saying, Hogan was “MAGA All the Way.

“We Lost a great friend, today, the ‘Hulkster,’” the president posted.

“He entertained fans from all over the World, and the cultural impact he had was massive. To his wife, Sky, and family, we give our warmest best wishes and love. Hulk Hogan will be greatly missed,” Trump wrote.

Hogan clearly saw the transformative power of Christ in his life, empowering him to achieve great heights in the spotlight as a superstar, but that is not the default path for others seeking the same guidance.

Christ’s love can take us down a path of patience, sometimes hardship while being sidelined, outcasted, and reviled for doing what is right in the manner of his teachings.

We don’t seek Christ feel to like mighty rulers and conquerors; we seek him for His forgiveness and to glorify His sacrifice on the cross.

With the loss of Hogan, we lose a Christian and a patriot in a world where not many celebrities jump at the opportunity to be either.

Surely, there are some left, but who was willing as much as Hogan to implement his faith and love of country into a persona to inspire fans young and old?

For that, he will be missed.
