The decomposing body of an 85-year-old woman was found inside her Queens apartment Tuesday — and her son may have lived for weeks with the rotting corpse, cops and sources said.

Police made the gruesome find at the Forest Hills home at 67th Avenue and Yellowstone Boulevard while conducting a wellness check around 3:15 p.m., authorities and law enforcement sources said.

A concerned relative couldn’t reach the elderly woman and called 911, they added.

When officers arrived, the woman’s son –- whom she shared the apartment with – answered the door, the sources said.

The 85-year-old woman -- who may have died weeks ago -- was found unresponsive under a blanket, cops and sources said.

Cops found the senior’s corpse in the bedroom under a blanket, police and sources said.

Her body was beginning to decompose – and apparently had been there for about four or five weeks, the sources said.

There were no visible signs of trauma, and the cause of death remains under investigation, police said.
