The felony charges against Lawrence Taylor in which the Giants legend was accused of failing to follow his conditions as a registered sex offender were dropped by prosecutors on Wednesday.

Taylor had been accused last month of failing to report a change of address to authorities, the conditions of a sex offense case dating back to allegations in 2010.

Prosecutors in Broward County (Fl.) ultimately dropped the charges.

Taylor’s attorney, Mark Eiglarsh, claimed to TMZ that the latest arrest occurred because Taylor’s ex-wife sought to “gain leverage in their bitter, three-year divorce battle.”

“We are deeply grateful for the prosecutors in this case,” the attorney continued, “ensuring that true justice was served.”

In the 2010 incident, Taylor was accused of having sex with a 16-year-old girl.

He told authorities at the time that the girl had told him she was 19.

He ultimately pleaded guilty in 2011 to sexual misconduct and patronizing a prostitute.

Taylor, one of the greatest players in NFL history and a two-time Super Bowl champion, faced a similar arrest in 2021 to the one last month where he was accused of not reporting a change of address.

“As with the previous incident involving the same allegations, Mr. Taylor did not knowingly commit any criminal offense,” Taylor’s attorney said last month.

“This situation is a significant misunderstanding. We are confident that, once the prosecutors review the exculpatory evidence demonstrating Mr. Taylor’s innocence, he will once again achieve a favorable outcome.”
