WEEI sports talk radio in Boston is making a series of dramatic moves.
The station’s parent company, Audacy, announced Wednesday that Andy Hart and Christian Arcand will be the new duo for the afternoon drive from 2:00 p.m. through 6:00 p.m. and that Adam Jones and Rich Keefe will “reunite” to co-host middays from 10:00 a.m. through 2:00 p.m.
What this means, as noted by Chad Finn of the Boston Globe, is that Andy Gresh and Christian Fauria, who were previously on in middays, are out in the shakeup.
Fauria’s 13-year career as an NFL tight end included four seasons in New England, a tenure that featured two of the Super Bowl championships in the fabled Bill Belichick/Tom Brady regime.
Jones had previously hosted middays with Meghan Ottolini, who is remaining with WEEI as a digital writer but no longer a daily show host.
Keefe hosts evenings for the station, his replacement is still to be determined.
Audacy is also the parent company of New York sports talk titan WFAN.
“These exciting updates bring together a dynamic mix of talent with New England roots that will continue to deliver top-tier content to Boston’s biggest sports fans,” Audacy’s Boston region leader Mike Thomas said in a statement.
“Adam Jones and Rich Keefe’s notable on-air styles and rapport will energize our midday show, while Andy Hart and Christian Arcand’s experience will help bolster afternoon drive. We’re looking forward to this next chapter of WEEI weekdays continuing to make WEEI the go-to destination for everything Boston sports.”
