Meet the fed-up Chicago dad who told DNC protesters to ‘get the f–k off my grass’ in viral encounter: ‘Internet gangsters’

CHICAGO — The Chicago man who went viral for confronting the obnoxious anti-Israel protesters at the Democratic National Convention has blasted them as “internet gangsters” who are wasting police resources — as the Windy City grapples with a crime crisis.

Lifelong Chicagoan Marvin Jackson lives directly in the DNC protest zone, where he and his family have been besieged by thousands of angry demonstrators encroaching on their yard.

“We’re in jail. My dog has no place to run. We’re in jail because of the DNC, the protests, all this s–t going on,” the plainspoken 53-year-old and self-described “black MAGA” told The Post.

Jackson’s frustration with the protesters milling about his property boiled over in a viral encounter in which the drone company owner scolded the throngs of lollygaggers while holding his two-year-old Doberman, Bella, on her leash outside his home.

“Get down the street! Take that s–t and get the f–k off my grass!” he shouted from in front of his home across the street from Park 578, where protesters descended on Monday, many thoughtlessly treading on his lawn in their travels.

His breaking point was on Wednesday when the sight of thousands of people suddenly swarming their street frightened his 7-year-old autistic son as he was outside riding his bike.

“That’s what made me mad, my son. We know the street they’re supposed to march down, but when you have a gang of people coming at my child and you scare the s–t out of my child I don’t give a damn what you’re protesting about. My family comes before everything.”

Jackson says neighbors have vented frustrations over their inability to get groceries or get the mail because of protests and street closures.

They have also lamented the number of Chicago Cops assigned to the DNC as a waste of resources given the city’s pernicious crime problem.

“Do you know how bad our gang violence is? If you’re going to give them overtime, put them on the streets,” he said.

“They gotta add extra police out here not only to protect the DNC but to protect against these hoodlum protesters — because what’s what I call them: hoodlum protesters,” he added.

Major felonies — which include murder, criminal sexual assault, aggravated battery, burglary, robbery and theft — were up 16% last year compared to 2022, according to Chicago Police Department statistics. Felonies were up an eye-popping 63% from 2021, the stats show.

The Democrat-led Windy City recorded 617 murders in 2023, compared to New York City’s 386 homicides — despite the population being three times less than that of the Big Apple.

Jackson compared the destructive anti-Israel protesters who broke through a police barricade on Monday to the Jan. 6 riots at the US Capitol.

“You’re complaining about January 6th but you’re doing the same thing,” he said, bemoaning the DNC and its accompanying protests as “nothing but turmoil since day one.”

He further derided the protesters as “internet gangsters” who are completely clueless about what’s happening both in Gaza and on the streets of Chicago, ripping them for their performative activism.

“They’re just fighting because they’ve seen it on TV,” he seethed.
