Trump planning to invite King Charles to the US after historic second state visit: report

President Trump was so pleased with his grand welcome in the UK that he’s planning to return the favor to King Charles in the US, according to a report.

The commander in chief had the red carpet rolled out for him this week during his historic two-day state visit on British soil — complete with a procession, state banquet and warm-worded speech from the monarch.

After arriving back in the US Thursday via Air Force One, insiders told the Telegraph that the president is already looking at inviting the king to the US as early as next year.

“It was a really fantastic trip. The British know how to do this perfectly,” a senior White House official told the outlet. “They set the bar high for their trip to see us.”

According to the report, the Trump administration is looking to give the UK a starring role in celebrations for the 250th anniversary of US independence next year.

The Post has reached out to the White House for comment.

On Wednesday, Trump was showered with kind words from the king himself during a ritzy state banquet at Windsor Castle.

The pair both heaped praise on the “special relationship” between the two nations, with Trump adding that the king had preserved “the glorious and unique character of this kingdom.”

Charles, for his part, paid homage to the UK’s long-standing relationship with the US during an official address about the President and First Lady Melania Trump.

The banquet was attended by more than 150 people, including royals, politicians, and prominent public figures with ties to both the UK and the US.

Speaking to reporters after the dinner, Trump said he and the king “were together for a long time.”

“Really two days. I just left him. He is a great person. I knew him as Prince Charles originally and now as King Charles. And the people love him in this country,” Trump added.
