Cedric Mullins’ struggles as the Mets’ primary center fielder have only underscored the organization’s need to find a long-term answer at the position.

The Mets have internal options.

But will any of them be ready to step in and claim the position at some point next season?

It’s a group that includes Jett Williams, Carson Benge, A.J. Ewing and Nick Morabito, the latter two of whom probably will need beyond 2026 before they are potential possibilities for Queens.
