Taylor Fritz is going where he’s never gone before in a Grand Slam, and his significant other is showing the love.
Fritz advanced to the U.S. Open semifinal on Tuesday afternoon with a 7-6(2), 3-6, 6-4, 7-6(3) win over No. 4 seed Alexander Zverev, and his longtime girlfriend, Morgan Riddle, was excited for the moment.
Riddle was shown by ESPN cameras and snapped by photographers clapping and smiling as Fritz clinched his spot in the final four of the tournament at Arthur Ashe Stadium.
On her social media account, she shared a video inside the arena and wrote “Semi finals” with three painting nails emojis.
She also re-shared a few posts from other folks, with one labeling them a “power couple.”
Another user wrote that ESPN was her biggest fan — rather than Fritz — to which Riddle replied “Shots fired.”
Riddle hasn’t been shy about sharing her experience at the U.S. Open and New York City during this Grand Slam, as she’s posted numerous photos and videos of her time in the Big Apple over the last two weeks.
That included a Monday photo dump of snaps from around the grounds in Queens.
“i know love exists because this game is full of it !!” she wrote.
Riddle made headlines when she celebrated Fritz’s Round of 16 victory — over Zverev — at Wimbledon in July.
She deleted a few posts soon after, including a video that included the caption “When ur mans wins for the girls” and Chappell Roan’s hit song “Hot to Go!”
“Regarding my stories yesterday… I took them down as soon as I realized the misunderstanding and how blown out of proportion they had become by the media,” Riddle said then. “They were not about anything that’s happened off the tennis court & there’s no bad blood between anyone.”
Fritz will take on either fellow American Frances Tiafoe or Grigor Dimitrov in the semis.
