IDF reveals the bloody Hamas tunnel where Hersh Goldberg-Polin and other hostages were held and killed

The Israel Defense Forces released horrifying video of the bloodstained Hamas tunnel where Israeli American Hersh Goldberg-Polin and five other hostages were shot and killed by the terrorists before they could be rescued.

The footage, published Tuesday, shows off the narrow passageway hidden in southern Gaza’s Tel Sultan neighborhood behind a child’s bedroom with a picture of Mickey Mouse and Snow White, the IDF said.

IDF Spokesperson Daniel Hagari is seen ducking as he walks the nearly 400-foot-long, dark corridor where he points to the location where Goldberg-Polin, 23, and the others were killed.

“This is the blood of Hersh, Eden, Carmel, Ori, Almog and Alex,” Hagari says as he points to the site of the massacre.

“They were heroes, and they were here in this tunnel for weeks or days,” he adds.

Along with Goldberg-Polin, the victims whose bodies were recovered on Aug. 31 were identified as Ori Danino, 25; Eden Yerushalmi, 24; Almog Sarusi, 27; Alexander Lobanov, 33, and Carmel Gat, 40.

The tunnel, located some 66-feet below ground, was operated by Hamas’ Rafah Brigade, according to the IDF.

Hagari said at least two terrorists were with the hostages behind an iron door at the end of the dark tunnel.

IDF troops first located the food and equipment that was being used by Hamas and the hostages behind the steel door, with enough supplies found to last for weeks.

Hagari lamented that the footage likely shows how the remaining hostages are living now 340 days into their captivity.

“There are still hostages, 101, some of them are alive in the same conditions in tunnels like this in Gaza,” he said.

“We need to do everything we can, in all means, in all the means we can to bring them back home alive,” he added.

The latest footage from the IDF comes following reports that Goldberg-Polin and the other hostages tried to fight off the terrorists before they were slain.

“Several of the six are assessed to have defended themselves and struggled with those who shot them,” Channel 12 News reported.

The Israeli outlet cited an IDF report finding that “Hersh, Ori, Alex and Almog defended Eden and Carmel” before they were killed.
