The Jets’ Week 1 loss raised a lot of concerns. How many could linger?

This was an interesting Week 1 for the Jets. I think we have talked so much about not overreacting to the first week that we are underreacting to some aspects.

Look, I don’t think many people believed the Jets were going to beat the 49ers in Santa Clara on Monday night. The 49ers are the defending NFC champs and the Jets have a lot of new pieces they are trying to get to work together. If you were making week-by-week predictions when the schedule came out, chances are you had this one in the loss column.

That being said, the Jets did not look good in their 32-19 loss. I think Jets fans would have been fine with a close defeat. If the 49ers had found a way to win it in the fourth quarter, there would not be so much griping. But the Jets were out of this game early in the third quarter. Throw in the fact that the 49ers ran for 180 yards on them without Christian McCaffrey and this was a tough one to swallow.

After watching the game again, I decided to explore the areas that are legitimate causes for concern and others that are one-game blips.
