Michael Kay came out swinging against Yankees fans who believe he’s a mouthpiece for Brian Cashman.

During “The Michael Kay Show” on Wednesday, the Yankees longtime play-by-play broadcaster lambasted the “mouthbreathing lowlifes” on social media who thought he was getting “marching orders” from the Yankees general manager by suggesting that poor-hitting Alex Verdugo could make the team’s playoff roster over poor-fielding Jasson Dominguez.

“I don’t read social media during the game, but after the game I’ll look to see what people are saying. So at one point during the game, I had said it’ll be an interesting thing to see what they do with left field,” Kay said.

“Because Dominguez had a rough road trip in left field. He did! But, clown-heads — mouth-breathers — quickly jumped me. ‘Had a rough road trip? He had two homers and a .900 OPS!’ That’s not what I said. I didn’t say anything about offense. It was his defense where it was rough. In the postseason, you want to get every single out of the 27. If you give any up, you’re gonna be in trouble.”

Kay continued to say that Dominguez is going to be a special player but repeated that he’s a liability on defense in left field.

“So I said, they might go with Verdugo, and then it would be interesting to see if Dominguez even makes the roster,” Kay said.

“Now, this is just Michael Kay talking! It’s not anybody telling me that. I’m just trying to surmise how they make out their 26-man roster. Now, Verdugo’s terrible offensively. He’s terrible! So they’re going to have to make a decision in the postseason. Do we want defense, or do we want someone with some clout in his bat, that can actually slug the ball, and that’s Jasson Dominguez. That’s the decision they have to make.”

Kay effectively denied having had any communication with Cashman whatsoever, let alone marching orders, over the past several months by putting out a bounty.

“So there’s this thread of people, where I said [Dominguez] had a bad road trip … it turns into, ‘Well obviously he’s gotten his marching orders from Cashman, and the gaslighting is beginning, so when they don’t have Dominguez starting he’s already paved the way,’” Kay said.

“As if me, on my show and on the game, I can actually pave the way for the fans not to freak out. So here’s the deal: I’m going to make an offer that I’ve never made before. So those fans that say I get my marching orders from Cashman — I give you a standing offer of $10,000 cash, right now, if you can prove that over the last two months that I’ve had any interaction with Brian Cashman.”

Kay said that in-person, phone, email or text communication would apply for this bounty.

“If you mouth-breathing lowlifes can prove that I’ve had any interaction with Brian Cashman, where he could ‘give me his marching orders’ — $10,000 when you give me the proof,” Kay reiterated.
