Kitten miraculously survives after cruel driver knowingly cruises around town with him stuck in engine: report

Eight lives left!

A British kitten is lucky to still be purring after being left inside the engine of a car as the cruel driver cruised about town while aware of the cat’s predicament.

The lucky feline, named Ota after the Toyota he was rescued from, was left to die by a Bradford, England, man who said he knew the kitten was lodged in the car’s machinery – but was “too busy” to get it out.

The Sept. 18 ordeal left little Ota with broken tibia bones in both legs, according to Bradford Cat Watch Rescue and Sanctuary – though miraculously the kitten sustained no other injuries.

Officials said the cat-extraction took 45-minutes and required the rescue team to totally dismantle the engine of the driver’s brand new car.

Officials were tipped off by one of the driver’s neighbors who heard meows coming from the hood of the car.

That neighbor called Bradford Cat Watch Rescue and Sanctuary, which coordinated the response.

“The driver knew about it but had been ‘too busy’ to deal with it. He said he had been ‘cruising around’ with it trapped inside the car during the day,” said Bradford Cat Watch Rescue and Sanctuary founder Katie Lloyd.

“We could only hear meows, the kitten wasn’t visible whatsoever,” Lloyd added.

According to a Bradford Cat Watch Rescue and Sanctuary Instagram post, Ota is on the road to recovery.

The group says he is comfortable and that he will undergo another set of x-rays in the coming weeks.

Ota remains in intensive care but his caretakers say he is expected to make a full recovery.

It’s not clear what , if any, charges the driver will face.
