Will Levis gave his Instagram followers a peek at the shoulder pain he’s endured ahead of his offseason surgery, which begs one question: How did it take until July to come to the season-ending surgery decision?

Taking to his Instagram Stories on Monday, the third-year Titans quarterback — who has already been ruled out for the 2025 season — shared a wild image of his injured shoulder on the eve of the procedure.

“Last night with this lil guy,” the 26-year-old Levis captured the post, which zoomed in on the impacted area.

The bone in his shoulder protruded in a way that can only make you wonder how he’s been able to throw a football whatsoever over the past several months, as the lingering discomfort he’s dealt with has stemmed from an injury dating back to last season.

Levis is entering his third NFL season after the Titans selected him 33rd overall in the 2023 draft.

He led the Titans to a 5-16 record in games he’s started, struggling to piece together any consistency last season.

Levis’ injury came early enough into last season that one could question whether it bugged him and derailed his season.

Regardless, Levis’ decision to undergo season-ending surgery cleared the way for No. 1 pick Cam Ward — whom the Titans were confident in selecting to be their franchise quarterback, regardless of Levis’ health — to take on the starting role in Tennessee.

While it didn’t seem all that likely that Levis would be any true threat to Ward, general manager Mike Borgonzi confirmed earlier in the offseason that the plan was to “have competition in the room.”

Levis’ rookie year had some promise as he threw for eight touchdowns and four interceptions. He was much shakier as a second-year player, throwing 13 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

With Levis’ surgery on July 29, his focus turns to the 2026 season, when he will likely be on the hunt for a new football home.
