2025 WNBA betting, odds, preview: Caitlin Clark is the favorite to win WNBA MVP in her 2nd season

Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark took the WNBA (and sports world) by storm last season in her debut. The 2024 No. 1 overall pick led the Fever to their first trip to the postseason since 2016, while winning Rookie of the Year and averaging 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 8.4 assists per game.

Does she have a chance to win WNBA MVP in her second season? Oddsmakers and bettors certainly think so.

Clark has been installed as the +195 favorite at BetMGM, slightly ahead of the Las Vegas Aces’ A’ja Wilson (+210) and Minnesota Lynx forward Napheesa Collier (+325). No other player has better than 10-1 odds, and New York Liberty forward Breanna Stewart (12-1) is the only other player with better than 25-1 odds to win the award.

Bettors have been backing Clark so heavily at BetMGM that more than half the wagers in the MVP market are on Clark to win, along with 64% of the total dollars wagered. The Fever have also been the most popular bet to win the WNBA title, moving the team’s odds from 25-1 all the way down to +350. The defending champion Liberty are the favorites to repeat at +220 odds.

“Bettors are all over Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever,” BetMGM trader Hannah Luther told Yahoo Sports. “The Fever have moved from +2500 to +350 [to win the title] and currently hold nearly 80% of the WNBA futures handle at BetMGM. Similarly, Caitlin Clark holds over half the MVP tickets and is the favorite to win the award in her second season.”

Wilson won the award last season and has won MVP in three of the past five seasons. Stewart took home MVP honors in the 2023 season, while Jonquel Jones (100-1) won it in 2021.
